Police Officer Educational Visits

Police officer in classroom with students

We value the opportunity for community engagement and are available to make educational visits to community groups. Topics are tailored to the audience, but generally are related to crime prevention, general safety, and the role of a police officer.

Examples of groups include:

  • Boy & Girl Scout meetings
  • Daycares & preschools
  • Homeschool groups
  • Retirement/senior living communities
  • HOA's
  • Civic organizations such as Lions Club, Rotary Club, etc.

There is no charge for an officer visit if the event is deemed to contribute to the safety, welfare, and education of Lenexa residents. Requests that are promotional in nature and hosted by private businesses, such as grand openings and special sales, will not be considered. We are also unable to make appearances at private events such as birthday, anniversary or retirement parties.

All police officer educational visits must take place within the City of Lenexa unless special circumstances exist. We generally request that groups consist of ten people or larger. It is preferred that visits occur Monday through Friday, however some weekend dates can occasionally be accommodated. All requests are subject to speaker availability.

Requests should be made at least 14 days in advance if possible.
