Work Out With Lenexa Police

Ready to break a sweat and build strength alongside Lenexa police officers? Work Out with Lenexa Police offers a unique blend of fitness and fun, pairing participants and local police officers for dynamic workout sessions.

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, this program tailors exercises to suit all fitness levels, focusing on functional fitness, strength training and cardio. Along the way, you’ll gain motivation, learn new fitness tips and discover exercise routines that keep our officers in top shape.



Who can participate and how to apply

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimal background check will be completed (this is necessary as participants will be in a secure part of the building)

As long as you meet the criteria listed above, you are eligible to apply. Once you submit an application, a Lenexa Police Department staff member will contact you with additional information and confirm a session.

Note: There is limited space and not all applicants will be able to attend each session. If your application is accepted but the upcoming session is full, you'll be added to the next date. 

Need to know before attending

  • Workout sessions are one hour long from 8 to 9 a.m. 
  • These are free to attend.
  • There is no commitment. These are month-to-month workout sessions (once your application has been accepted, you can choose which session(s) you want to attend)
  • Sessions will take place inside the Lenexa Justice Center, 17371 Prairie Star Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66219.
  • Participants must wear clothing and shoes that are suitable for exercise. Workout clothing must be appropriate for a public gym setting. Individuals not dressed appropriately will be asked to leave and change.  

About the trainer

Paul Sharbaugh with Active Lifestyle Coaching

Workout sessions are led by Paul Sharbaugh, a local strength and conditioning specialist, who has over 25 years of experience implementing his passion for fitness and training in business and National Guard capacities. Paul enjoys leading teams in achieving aggressive goals and assisting those of all ages in improving their overall health and wellness. He seeks to constantly expand his knowledge and skillsets to further his effectiveness and enjoys connecting with like-minded professionals.

Since 2016, Paul has led private workout sessions for the Lenexa Police Department staff.
