Request Police Report

A police report is a short written summary of an incident handled by law enforcement. These reports are typically used for insurance claims or by other organizations that need documentation showing a report was filed with the Lenexa Police Department.

Information in these reports includes:

  • Date
  • Time
  • General nature of the incident
  • Location of the event
  • Reporting parties
  • Involved vehicles

Cost

The fee for a police report is $5. People who are listed as a "victim" in this type of report may obtain a copy for free.

How to request a police report

In person

Step 1.Visit the Lenexa Justice Center

The Lenexa Justice Center is located at 17371 Prairie Star Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66219. Our lobby is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Step 2.Inform a Public Service Officer of your request

Pay the report fee with cash, check, money order or credit card. 

Step 3.Receive the report

We will process your request and can typically provide a printed copy of the report(s) immediately.

By mail

Step 1.Send your request and pay the fee

Submit a written request for a police report to us by postal mail:

  • Reference the Lenexa Police Department case number.
  • Include a $5 check or money order made out to the "Lenexa Police Department."
  • Include a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Step 2.Receive the report

We will process your request and mail a printed copy of the report(s).
