Art must be artist’s original work and not previously shown in a juried exhibit at the Lenexa City Hall Art Gallery.
Art must be family friendly with no images of nudity, of a sexual nature, graphically violent or depicting gore, no use of or depiction of illegal substances, and no political messaging. The jury committee reserves the right to deny any artwork for any reason.
Applicants are asked to submit a photo of the piece(s) they are entering along with their application.
Artists must submit a waiver form at the time art is delivered to City Hall.
Value of art must be stated whether or not you wish to sell it. Art that is not for sale will be listed on the art label as NFS.
Deliver art to Lenexa City Hall (17101 W. 87th St. Pkwy.) on Monday, Aug. 7, 2024, (details will be provided to artists). Art cannot be dropped off unless it is handed to a Lenexa Arts Council or staff member. Artists must unpack art themselves. If you have a conflict on that day, please call Susanne Neely at 913.477.7131 before Aug. 7 to make other arrangements. Late art cannot be accepted after the show is installed.
Hanging pieces must be backed with secured, sturdy hanging wire (sawtooth and other small hooks do not work with our hanging system), and must be framed, when applicable. Art on canvas should have finished edges.
Write artist’s name and title of art on back of art. Artists’ work will be identified with uniform display labels supplied by Lenexa Arts Council.
3D art must sit securely on its own or have attachments to secure it.
Art must remain displayed for the entire show.
Lenexa Arts Council members and staff will hang art with secure fixtures. Only a Lenexa Arts Council member may remove art from the wall, case or pedestal.
