The Legal Department represents the City and its officials by providing the following services:

• Handle lawsuits and claims brought by and against the city
• Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, bonds and other written instruments
• Provide advice and legal opinions to staff and elected officials
• Prosecute violations of the Lenexa City Code in Lenexa Municipal Court
• Provide information and assistance to crime victims
