The Legal Department represents the City and its officials by providing the following services:
- Handle lawsuits and claims brought by and against the city
- Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, bonds and other written instruments
- Provide advice and legal opinions to staff and elected officials
- Prosecute violations of the Lenexa City Code in Lenexa Municipal Court
- Provide information and assistance to crime victims
