Chris Herron was elected to serve as a Ward 4 council member in November 2023.
He has a bachelor’s degree in history from Dartmouth College and an MBA specializing in finance and accounting from Southern Methodist University. Currently a project developer at Eneus Energy, a green ammonia plant developer and operator, his expertise spans finance, project development and corporate management within the energy sector.
Throughout his career, Chris has overseen significant natural gas power plant developments, managed job-financing initiatives, and gained valuable international work experience. He has also made notable contributions as a member of nonprofit boards.

He values relationships, connecting with people, and lives by the Golden Rule. He is a strong advocate for democratic principles, voting rights, equal opportunities and the power of optimism. His hope for the future is that Lenexa can serve as a model for how people with different ideas, beliefs and values can coexist and thrive together.
