Summer break is a time of fun and freedom for many kids. But for those who rely on school meals, it can also be a time of great hunger.

Throughout May 2025, the City of Lenexa’s We Care Committee is hosting an online food drive to support Johnson County Aging & Human Services’ food pantry, which helps fill the hunger gap for local families.

The best part? You don’t even have to leave the house. The agency has an Amazon wish list of their most-needed items, making it easy to make a difference without having to go to the store.

How to donate:

  1. Visit the pantry’s Amazon wish list of most-needed items
  2. Add items to your cart.
  3. Select Johnson County Aging & Human Services – Food Pantry, Lenexa, KS to have Amazon deliver your donation.
  4. In the “gift message” section, write: Lenexa Food Drive.
  5. Complete your purchase.

Together, we can help keep kids fed this summer.

The We Care Committee is made up of employees from every Lenexa department. They work together throughout the year to support local nonprofit organizations and build a stronger community.
