From soulful jazz to foot-stomping bluegrass, Lenexa’s soundtrack has something for everyone. Whether you love the grandeur of an orchestra, the raw energy of rock ‘n’ roll, or the timeless charm of mariachi, this city knows how to turn up the volume on live music. 


Kansas City Symphony’s Mobile Music Box

Kick off this season of music with a delightful evening at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park. The Kansas City Symphony’s Mobile Music Box will roll in on Wednesday, April 23, at 6 p.m. Set up your lawn chair or spread out a blanket by Rose’s Pond and let the music carry you away. Bonus: April 23 is also National Picnic Day, so grab your cutest basket, pack some tasty bites and make it an evening to remember.


Lenexa’s Outdoor Concert Series

Unwind on Sunday evenings at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park with live music that ranges from blues and big band to Motown and mariachi. Whether you're swaying to smooth melodies or dancing to high-energy beats, this free Outdoor Concert Series is a sure way to end your weekend on a high note. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket or lawn chair and soak in the sounds. Concerts start at 5 p.m. Special thanks to Blue Moose Bar & Grill for their sponsorship of this series.

Friday Night Sound Bites

Nothing beats live music on the patio with great food and good company! The Lenexa Public Market has another exciting lineup for its Friday Night Sound Bites outdoor music series that starts in May and runs every Friday through October from 7 to 10 p.m. Grab a bite and drink from Market merchants and rotating local food trucks, then settle in for a night of music. Here’s a peek at the lineup: 


Lenexa Community Orchestra

When the summer heat turns up, take the music indoors. The Lenexa Community Orchestra, led by conductor Richard Ryan, presents three free performances. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Concerts begin at 7 p.m.

Lenexa Farmers Market

Looking for a little live music with your morning coffee? Stop by the Lenexa Farmers Market for live acoustic acts on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. during the outdoor season. It offers great ambience while you shop for fresh produce and handmade goods.
