City Council meetings to be livestreamed
Published on October 07, 2026
Lenexa residents will soon have another way to follow City Council meetings.
The Lenexa Governing Body has approved updates to its Rules of Procedure that will allow regularly scheduled City Council meetings to be livestreamed.
Committee of the Whole meetings, which are held for planning and discussion purposes only and do not involve formal action, will not be livestreamed.
Livestreaming will begin with the City Council's Oct. 20, 2026, meeting, giving residents the option to watch online in real time. Recordings will remain available on the City’s website for two years after each meeting.
The change gives residents another convenient way to stay connected with City business and follow Council discussions and decisions, whether they attend in person or watch from home.
Lenexa City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of the month in the Community Forum at Lenexa City Hall, 17101 W. 87th St. Pkwy. Meetings typically begin at 7 p.m. and can last varying lengths of time.
A link to watch City Council meetings online will be available at Lenexa.com. Residents can also sign up to receive City Council agendas and minutes by email; those messages will include the livestream link.
The Governing Body establishes its own Rules of Procedure to help City Council meetings operate efficiently and to outline roles, responsibilities and meeting practices.
