The City of Lenexa is launching a Neighborhood Beautification Grant pilot program to provide modest financial support to eligible neighborhoods for public-facing, neighborhood-wide exterior improvements in the form of a reimbursable grant. The program is intended to help enhance shared physical assets, foster unique neighborhood identity and further community pride. Examples of eligible improvements include replacing or repairing neighborhood entry signs, playground equipment, shelters, access areas such as parking or stairs and landscaping.
Applicants can be homeowners associations, or when a homeowners association does not exist, owners of two separate properties who agree to serve as the neighborhood's representatives and grant recipients.
Neighborhoods must invest at least $1,000 and are eligible for a 50% reimbursement of the project’s costs up to $2,000. The application period will be March 1—April 15, 2027, with more information forthcoming.
