Give your pumpkins and natural holiday greenery a second life. Lenexa Parks & Recreation turns them into compost that helps keep City gardens and landscaping thriving.
Nov. 1–30, 2026
Don’t toss those leftover pumpkins in the trash. Bring them to Little Mill Creek Park (79th & Cottonwood) and give them new purpose. Look for the clearly marked dumpster in the parking lot.
Dec. 26, 2026–Jan. 11, 2027, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. daily
When the holidays are over, bring your natural evergreen trees, wreaths and garlands to the Little Mill Creek Park parking lot for recycling.
Remove all lights, ornaments, tinsel, stands and other decorations before dropping off your greenery.
Scouts BSA Troop 186 will collect Christmas trees on Jan. 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2027. Schedule a pickup at Recycle.Troop186.org, then place your tree at the curb by 9 a.m. on your selected day. A $10 donation is requested for this service.
