Birthday parties

Celebrate a birthday at one of our outdoor pools with reserved table space and options for food and beverage service. We offer two packages to fit your needs.

Rental hours

You can host a party at our outdoor pools during the summer season at the times listed below. All reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance of your requested party. Birthday reservations open May 10.

Ad Astra Pool and Flat Rock Creek Pool

  • May 25–Aug. 4, 2024: Daily at noon, 1:30, 3, 4:30 or 6 p.m.

Sar-Ko-Par Aquatic Center

  • May 25–Aug. 11, 2024:
    • Monday–Friday at 4 or 5 p.m.
    • Saturday or Sunday at noon, 1:30, 3, 4:30 or 6 p.m.
  • Aug. 16–Sept. 1, 2024: Saturday or Sunday at noon, 1:30, 3, 4:30 or 6 p.m.

Splash Package

Splash Package includes admissions and 1.5-hour table reservations. Add-on options available.

Wave Package

Wave Package includes admissions, 1.5-hour table reservations, and one each of the following per person: nachos, drink, and ice cream sandwich (rectangular sandwich only).

Policies

  • Outdoor Pool Birthday Party Agreement and Waiver must be signed and full payment received at the time of reservation.
  • Cancellations made 15 days or more out will receive a full refund. Cancellations made 14 days or less from event date will receive a 50% refund.
  • Changes to dates must be requested in advance at least 48 business hours.

Private rentals

Need a place to host a party or special event? Make a splash by renting one of our outdoor pools after hours.

Rental hours

You can rent a pool facility for up to two hours during the summer season during these times:

  • Flat Rock Creek Pool: Daily from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m.
  • Ad Astra Pool: Sundays from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m.

How to book a party or rent a pool

Birthday party

You can reserve an outdoor pool birthday party as early as May 10 and as late as seven days prior to your event date.

Identify an outdoor pool for your party based on location preference.

Step 3.Check availability

To start the reservation process, check the availability of your preferred party date and time.

After-hours private rental

You can reserve an after-hours pool private rental as early as May 10 and as late as 14 days before your event date.

Identify an outdoor pool for your event based on location preference.

Step 3.Check availability.

Contact Lenexa Parks & Recreation with information about your requested date, duration, type of event, guest count and concessions rental interest. Wait for staff to confirm availability.

Step 4.Finalize reservation.

Make your reservation in person at the Lenexa Rec Center, 17201 W. 87th St. Pkwy., Lenexa, KS 66219. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
