Legler Barn Museum & Depot

Legler Barn Museum Exterior

Lenexa’s history is on display at the Legler Barn Museum & Depot in Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park. The property features several historical structures, including the restored Lenexa Train Depot, the Wiedenmann Strang Line Wait Station and a retired caboose.

Legler Barn was originally built in 1864 by the Legler family on the Santa Fe Trail near 95th Street and Quivira Road. In 1983, it was moved to its current location. The museum includes information about the town’s founders, the City’s festivals and businesses. The restored Lenexa Train Depot showcases railroad artifacts and artifacts that illustrate different ways to travel.

The Lenexa Archives are available to research by appointment only.

The Legler Barn Museum & Depot is surrounded by park land, trails, Rose's Pond, playgrounds, sport courts, an outdoor pool and more.
