Adopt-A-Spot

Our Adopt-A-Spot program gives you the opportunity to learn about and participate in the preservation of our parks, streets, streams and neighborhoods. By adopting a spot, you’ll make a positive difference in the cleanliness of our water, parks and open spaces.

Pick a spot, any spot

By being part of the Adopt-A-Spot program, we ask that you choose a location and commit to cleaning it up three times a year for two years. You choose the dates, times and spot you wish to clean. We will provide the supplies and training for the cleanup.

You can choose any spot in Lenexa — a park, a trail, a stream, a street, a neighborhood. We just need to approve the spot and give you the go-ahead.

How to participate

1. Get your group together. You can have as many or as few people as you’d like.
2. Decide what location you prefer (subject to availability).
3. Fill out the Adopt-A-Spot application(PDF, 187KB) and submit it to Parks & Recreation Assistant Director Mandy Danler.
4. Upon approval, schedule your cleanup and keep Lenexa looking beautiful.
5. Don’t forget to take a photo of your group and tag us on social media.
