The Multipurpose Room (gym) is available for sport practice rentals on a limited basis due to renovations. All other room rentals are unavailable until after renovations are complete in December 2024.

Multipurpose Room (Gym) in Lenexa Community Center

The Multipurpose Room (Gym) at the Lenexa Community Center is a rental space that can accommodate a variety of event types and setups.

It is ideal for large events, such as receptions, banquets, business meetings, training seminars, graduation parties, birthday parties, anniversary parties, holiday parties, celebrations of life, basketball (half or full gym), volleyball (up to three nets), pickleball (up to three nets), futsal and sports conditioning.

Rental hours

Sunday–Thursday: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Rental time must include any prep and cleanup time.

Rental rates

Rental fee includes setup of tables and chairs, amenities and on-site staff. Additional fees may apply for alcohol consumption and damage deposit.

We offer discounted rates to Lenexa residents and businesses. Separate nonprofit rates are not available.

Monday–Friday: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

How to rent

Rental reservations can be made up to six months in advance and require at least a two-week notice.

Rental policies

Alcohol and security policy

In order to have alcohol at your event, you must be at least 21 years old. Complete the Facility Alcohol Permit Form(PDF, 70KB) and pay the additional $100 permit fee at least 60 days before your event.

An off-duty Lenexa police officer(s) will be scheduled to work your event. Parks and Rec staff will schedule the officer(s) 30 minutes before alcohol is first served until 30 minutes after the last call and all alcohol is put away. The fee is $50 per officer per hour, paid in cash directly to the officer(s) when they arrive.
