How to apply

How to safely dispose of novelty fireworks

Soak in water

  1. Submerge used fireworks (spent, dud, or misfired) in a bucket of water.
  2. Let them soak for at least 15–20 minutes.
  3. Once completely saturated, double-bag the wet fireworks in plastic to keep them from drying out.
  4. Dispose of them in your regular household trash — don’t recycle.

What to avoid

  • Do not burn fireworks.
  • Do not dispose of dry fireworks in household trash — they can ignite.
  • Do not flush fireworks or dump them into storm drains or water sources.
