City Hall - Lenexa Commons / Outdoor Stage

The Lenexa Commons is a rentable outdoor gathering place at the center of Lenexa's civic campus. It features large open spaces for play and festivals, with built-in perimeter seating. The Outdoor Stage is ideal for hosting concerts and other live performances. Both are next to Lenexa City Hall.

Rental hours

Daily: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (in general)

Rental time must include any prep and cleanup time. Rentals after 5 p.m. weekdays and anytime on weekends must be a minimum of two hours.

Available for two rentals per group per six-month period.

Rental rates

Rental fee includes technology, amenities and on-site concierge. Additional fees may apply for alcohol consumption and damage deposit.

Separate nonprofit rates are not available.

Also requires approval of a Parks Special Event Permit(PDF, 235KB), which costs $75.

How to rent

Rental reservations can be made up to six months in advance and require at least a two-week notice.

Rental policies

Alcohol and security policy

In order to have alcohol at your event, you must be at least 21 years old. Complete the Facility Alcohol Permit Form(PDF, 70KB) and pay the additional $100 permit fee at least 60 days before your event.

An off-duty Lenexa police officer(s) will be scheduled to work your event. Parks and Rec staff will schedule the officer(s) 30 minutes before alcohol is first served until 30 minutes after the last call and all alcohol is put away. The fee is $50 per officer per hour, paid in cash directly to the officer(s) when they arrive.
