General election advance voting

Advance in-person voting for the fall general election takes place Oct. 25–Nov. 3 at various locations. Or apply to vote by mail by Oct. 28. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.

City Hall Art Gallery

Lenexa’s City Hall Art Gallery showcases local and regional artists. Shows rotate about every month and feature a wide array of art styles.

Receptions typically take place on the first Thursday of an exhibit’s debut. These receptions are open to the community and are a great way to learn more about the artists, their inspiration and process.

Some art is available for purchase. Check with the receptionist or the artist’s bio book at the exhibit to learn more.

The Lenexa Arts Council hosts and organizes about 10 exhibits in the City Hall Art Gallery each year.

Calls for artists

Solo or Shared Exhibit Call for Artists

The City Hall Art Gallery rotates exhibits on nearly a monthly basis. If you would like to have your 2D or 3D work considered for a solo or shared exhibit, you are invited to apply. We select art based on artistic and cultural significance that encourages public education and appreciation of the arts. We also look for art that demonstrates professional excellence and creativity, taking into consideration general standards of decency and respect for cultural diversity.

Lenexa Artists' Show Call for Artists

We celebrate hometown artists in the Lenexa Artists’ Show, which features 2D and 3D works by Lenexa residents only. This is a juried show, and judges award monetary prizes in various categories for exceptional artwork.

Exhibit period is August through September 2026. Applications will be accepted from April 1–July 6, 2026.

HeART of Lenexa Contest Call for Artists

The HeART of Lenexa Contest celebrates art and community. Create a work of art in any medium, inspired by something you love about Lenexa. This is a juried show, and judges award monetary prizes in various categories for exceptional artwork.

Exhibit period is late January through February 2025. Applications will be accepted Aug. 1–Oct. 31, 2025.

Place of Peace Veterans Art Exhibit Call for Artists

We’re giving veterans a creative outlet and a way to process their experience and community members an opportunity to support and learn from them. This fall, the Lenexa Arts Council and the Arts Council of Johnson County will present Place of Peace at the City Hall Art Gallery. We’re seeking veterans — from all military branches and artistic levels — to submit art for consideration.

Select art will be on display for the exhibit Oct. 28–Nov. 30, 2025. Application period has ended.
